This past week, I conquered my nerves teaching Spanish at a gifted camp—90 minutes daily with 10-12 upper elementary kids! We kicked off with fave/least fave food drawings for PQA laughs ("¡Qué asco!"), grooved to "Cabeza" brain breaks, built a wild monster via Invisibles, and acted out my picky-eater story where a beast craves the baby & dog. Chalk retells outside? Pure magic—can't wait for next summer!

One of the target structures in Somos, Unit 8 is “sabes.” I use a song called ¡Colores Colores! with my little students, and it fits well with this unit. It is a children’s song written for a younger audience, but I created resources to use the premise of why you might like a color.

At iFLT 2016, I learned to hook kids with their passions—like Pokémon Go! We built vocab (busca, ve) via drawings, shared sibling theft tales, and I narrated my "real" school hunt in PPT (past for bigs, present for littles). Then, iPad hunts mapped PokéStops & catches—next: class chats, summaries, & collection show-offs!
